Holly & Bruce’s Wedding
By admin | April 2, 2008
Holly and Bruce planned a gorgeous outdoor ceremony at the historic Gordon Lee Mansion with a reception to follow. Unfortunately the weather decided not to cooperate. On their wedding day we had some of the worst thunderstorms I’ve ever seen. At points during the day it was raining so hard you couldn’t see two feet in front of you, and it was cold. Holly said before her wedding “It can rain, or it can be cold - but please not both!”. Sadly, it was both. As luck may have it they had a backup plan and were able to use a small church down the street called Cove United Methodist which was built in the 1800’s. It was a gorgeous little church and perfectly held all the people there to see their ceremony. Just minutes before the ceremony started - the sun came out, and it didn’t rain again until soon after the reception ended. What a blessing!
Here are a few of my favorite images from their wedding day - a few images we were able to capture at the Gordon Lee Mansion in between thunderstorms. They were both great sports for being willing to get out in the rain - especially since these were taken prior to their ceremony.
I hope the big move to Virginia Beach is going well and I hope you guys get settled in soon! Thanks for having me capture your special day!
